Re-Release
Team Associated RC10 Worlds (Re-Release)
The 1993 Team Associated RC10 Worlds Car was the culmination of years of racing and development. Built on a black anodized version of the classic "Gold Tub" chassis used on the original 1980s RC10, the re-released 2014 version remained virtually unchanged for the new century. Back in 1993, this kit was a factory-issued replica of the IFMAR world championship car. With the exception of a few minor updates, it would be difficult to tell a 2014 car from a 1993 car. I was lucky enough to purchase the re-release when they were still available in stores. Once quickly discontinued, the $189 street price quickly shot up to above $400 or more, especially for sealed kits. I had some mistakes in my original paint job so I ordered a spare body, also when they were still available.

Just this year I finally painted that replacement body, and at the same time tore the car down for a cleaning and tune up. Despite being built on 30+ year old technology, this car is one of the best handling and most fun cars I have.

It's extremely overpowered with a Trackstar 5800Kv Brushless Motor & ESC. Running a Hitec high speed digital servo for steering. The radio system is a Team Associated 2.4ghz set.

I wanted an orange trim theme on this one, so I used orange silicone fuel tubing on all of the linkages. Additional fuel tubing was cut into 1/8 inch sections and stuck on just about every exposed socket-head bolt on the car. These have surprisingly remained in place, for the most part, despite 5 years of abuse. For the wheels, I found white ones that I could dye orange. And I located some orange anodized battery hold-down thumb nuts (lol). Then orange in the paint job to top it off.

Since I knew right away back in 2014 that I screwed up the paint job, I never applied the factory decals. I was able to use them on the new body here. There is also an authentic flourescent Novak decal on the wing, from the late 1980s or early 1990s.
